Eve of CNY

CNY is over
Hmm… times flew and we are entering into the 6th day of the Lunar New Year. Well, first let me elaborate more this CNY starting from the Eve. We woke up slightly later around 10am then start to clean up ourselves and bathing my boy. It was almost 11am when we are all ready to move out of the house to hunt for food. Hubby drove us to Marsiling market to have our late breakfast and like previous years, many stalls were closed. Lucky enough, we still managed to get some roasted chicken rice plus braised egg for 2. After the heavy breakfast we wander around the market and bought some chocolate biscuits for baby and 6 pet bottle F&N soft drinks for my mom. It was around noon time when we head towards my mommy place and the 2 folks were busy doing their final round touch up for the house. I coordinate for my dad to pick up the lorry which I had borrowed from my ex-company and left their house around 2pm. Went straight to my in-law house after that and guess what? Sigh.. they were also busy preparing for the offering to the ancestor like every year. My mother in law bought us an 1 kg fruit cake for us to last for at least 2-3 days during the festive season when most of the hawkers were closed. (yummy yummy) seems like the folkies were all busy running their own schedules so we decided to chill at home until they call us for the reunion dinner in the night. We were all lazing and doing nothing and baby refused to take his nap.

18:30hr everybody dress up and all ready to have our sumptuous meal at in law place as I heard my in law get those caterer to prepare shark fins, suckling pig, abalone and blah blah blah for this year reunion dinner. Reaches there at 18:35hr but dinner still not ready thus, decided to pop over to my mom’s place for some quite bite. Mummy was thrilled to see us there as this year she did not invite all the uncles and aunties over for dinner and so left only the 2 folks plus my bro. About half an hour later, my in-law rang us saying dinner is ready and we again drive back to their place and start having our dinner there.

22:00hrs everybody is too full to move any where and we all sat down and chit chat for almost like an hour. After that, hubby decided to drive us to the nursery to grab some last minute bargain. We first when to prince’s landscape which is the nearest to our place but saw nothing we want and the price is like kinda steep even on the last day. Not happy going back empty handed we head down to another nursery at Jalan Kayu and hahahaha…… great bargain! Those 4 tiers tangerine tree usually selling @ S$120 and above all going at S$18.00. We quickly grab 2 pots and sent it to my in law place before 12am. They were simply delighted to see the 2 pots of plant and first thing they asked is: these 2 pots cost at least hundred bucks?

12:30hrs plant sent and help out decorating the plant and my little one was simply too tired to make any more noise and dosed off. His diaper was wet and kinda over flow and no choice that I gotta changed for him and the next thing is he is awake!!! No more itineraries we decided to make our prayer at the downstair temple and offer some ang bao to the monks hoping all will be well and smooth throughout the year.

03:00hrs prayer done and all goes to the dreamland……
